Police Report
The following are from reports to the Fruita Police:
FEB. 13
A drug violation occurred at 1102 Wildcat Avenue. A 16-year-old boy was issued a summons on suspicion of being in possession of marijuana.
FEB. 15
Officers responded to 1102 Wildcat Avenue to a fight between two boys, age 15 and 16, at Fruita Monument High School. A juvenile petition was requested for assault – second degree with injury against the 16-year-old.
FEB. 16
Eric Wilkinson, 26, was contacted and arrested at 404 E. Aspen Avenue on two outstanding warrants. He was taken into custody and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility.
FEB. 19
A juvenile female reported a possible sexual assault that occurred in 2012. The investigation is continuing.
A lost license plate was reported.
Burglary occurred at 324 N. Coulson Street when a known juvenile male, age 14, entered a Fruita Community Center locker and removed $550 in personal property. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney for a juvenile petition for the charges of third degree burglary and theft.
Officers were dispatched to a report of an assault. After investigation, Starsha Lowell, 23, was taken into custody for third degree assault domestic violence.
FEB. 20
A welfare check was conducted in the 1200 block of Windsor Park Drive. A person was found to be having medical issues and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for evaluation.
A sex offense was reported in the 100 block of N. Apple Street. The report stated the juvenile may have been sexually assaulted by a known family member. The case is under investigation.
Officers responded to a report of a protection order violation at the Fruita Community Center. After investigation, it was determined that no violation had occurred.
Lonnie Hamilton, 29, was issued a summons for reckless driving, driving while license canceled, and obstructing an officer after officers attempted to contact Hamilton in the 600 block of S. Pine Street for driving offenses.
FEB. 21
A reported threat was found to be unfounded after investigation.
A threat reportedly occurred in the 1800 block of J Road. The victim reported a known subject made harassing statements and threats toward her. The case is currently under investigation.
A suspicious incident/person was reported in the 200 block of Pine Street. Officers responded to the emergency room at Family Health West Hospital for a reported child abuse. The incident occurred in Grand Junction and the case was forwarded for follow-up.
FEB. 22
A non-injury traffic accident happened at 100 E. Aspen Avenue.
Harassment in the 1000 block of Cedar Way was reported. The incident was documented and a report completed.
An assault was reported in the 700 block of Gold Rush Drive. Peter Tannous, 33, was arrested for false imprisonment and third degree assault-domestic violence.
Officers responded to a single-vehicle non-injury private property traffic accident in the 1200 block of E. Carolina Avenue. Travis Larimore was issued a citation for careless driving.
FEB. 23
A 17-year-old male at 18-1/2 Road and L Road was arrested for DUI and minor in possession of alcohol. He was later released to his mother.
Officers responded to a report of a suicidal male. He was detained and transported to Colorado West Mental Health.
FEB. 24
Theft from autos occurred in the 800 block of E. Carolina Avenue. Unknown suspects entered several unlocked vehicles.
Someone broke a window at the Fruita Thrift Shop causing approximately $300 in damage.
A cell phone valued at $500 was stolen from the Fruita Community Center. There are no suspects.
FEB. 25
A woman reported she lost her notebook computer possibly at City Market. The computer is valued at $350.
An officer was advised of a possible domestic situation involving elderly persons in the 1000 block of Wallace Street. The case is under investigation.
The unauthorized use of a financial transaction device was reported.
A party occurred in the 900 block of Azurite Drive and initial reports indicate marijuana and alcohol were used by several juveniles. The investigation is continuing.
